Paco de Lucia e Al Di Meola - Entre dos Aguas... and maybe many other waters ...

Salam,

A primeira é que além de tudo que eu sabia dele, o estudo da obra dele tem me levado a sentir o extremo requinte da sua composição e de seus arranjos. Ele era de fato detalhista e perfeccionista em muitos aspectos;

Sublime...

E eu espero que vcs gostem tanto quanto eu gostei, tá bom? =)

Salam,

I'm particularly delighted with this video that I found on Youtube, and I watched for a few days until I could not resist and decided to post it here, okay? =)

Using the text description of the video itself as a base, "Friday Night in San Francisco", was a very remarkable event in the Music History. This event took place on December 5, 1980 at the famous Warfield Theatre in San Francisco, California.

For the first time in history, "flamenco meet Jazz" in a exclusive live performance by Al Di Meola, Paco De Lucia and John McLaughlin.

After this, the three also recorded a second and stupendous album in 1983 entitled "Passion, Grace & Fire" and I had this album for a long time and still remember hearing him in complete silence and musical delight in the room of my parents' house, and this album was very important to increase my musical range and contributed greatly to my development as a musician.

After more than 30 years, Al Di Meola and Paco De Lucia, met again, this time in Germany, to play together in a memorable and inspiring night, okay? =)

Paco de Lucia is part of the group of my favorite guitarists and is for me a great musical influence. Paco de Lucia accompanies me since my earliest childhood when we heard his records in my family's house and since then, flamenco has been a musical style that leaves me completely in love..

There are a bunch of tunes that I could call "arabesque" or "Moorish", I can't define, but this kind of music moves me very much, and always move. The Arabic music is something very appealing to me and flamenco has its roots in Arabic music, already that flamenco emerged in Spain after the Arab presence in the area at the time of Islamic expansion, especially in the region of Andalusia.

Interestingly, I found this video after reading the story of someone who personally knew Randy Rhoads (always present for me =) ...) and I found out by reading this report, that in 1981 he was listening Al Di Meola, and it made me curious to know a little more about the work of this great guitarist.

Now I'm a little absent cause I'm improving myself more in my musical studies, and I went into a phase of intense study of the Randy Rhoads' music, and with this, two points called my attention:

The first is that besides all that I knew about him, the study of his work has led me to feel the extreme elegance of their composition and their arrangements. Randy Rhoads was really thorough and a perfectionist in many ways;

The second, very interesting, is that I begin to recognize myself in his music. This is something very interesting, he used musical elements that I didn't know when I began to be influenced by him, but I also started using the same elements through pure "feeling", to feel what he was playing, and this came  through purely sentimental way, not technical, cause I still didn't have enough knowledge to understand these elements by analytical form...

Paco de Lucia and Al Di Meola ...

Sublime ...

And I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, okay? =)

In Love...

... with my guitar... =D

Ela é a minha guitarra.

...with my guitar... = D

Yes, that's right, I'm always in love with Polka, my guitar, okay?

Polka is not a replica of Randy Rhoads guitar. She is MY guitar.

Yes she is my greatest tribute to Randy, it was developed from the Sandoval Polka Dot V that belonged to Randy, but she is totally different compared to Randy's guitar.

It has 22 frets Gibson scale, her neck has the asymmetrical shape, a suggestion from Paula Bifulco, of Pauleira Guitars, which I loved, and she has the pickups screwed directly into the wood of the body, which in my opinion makes the timbre of the guitar sound more rich and organic.

The controls are totally different, with master volume for both pickups and separate tone for each pickup + kill-switch, and many other different characteristics that make Polka MY guitar, unique, different, a reference to the great love I have for Randy Rhoads, who is and always will be my biggest influence, but Polka is not Randy's guitar, it is my guitar, okay? =)
