About me on the news today =)

Porque o meu foco e o meu objetivo, é a música. Apenas a música.

Well, this morning I was surprised by a lot of articles around the world talking about me, and I'm very happy for this, okay? Cause this is my job, and part of my job.

But above all, in a world drowning in violence and extremism from all sides, I hope to contribute a little to the peace, and show that we can think differently.

I don't care what people say about me, okay? =)

Cause my focus and my goal is the music. Just the music. And by chance, I'm a Muslim woman. I could be Christian, Buddhist, agnostic, but I am Muslim, so what?

Thank you all for the beautiful messages. I'm trying to answer everyone, but I have to go back to my study, which is my job, okay?

Salam =)

I Don't Live Today...

Pessoas procuram sem sucesso me rotular, classificar, qualificar...

After a ridiculously hot day in São Paulo, I come here to record all my love, respect and admiration for Jimi Hendrix, who on September 18, 1970, left this world and moved on in his eternal trip, okay?

Much has been said and has been written about the Jimi Hendrix, of course.

But I guess no one ever heard Jimi as I hear, and this is natural, not because I am different, and yes! I am different! I’m Different like all people are, because each person is in itself a unique universe. But it is precisely because of this, because I’m different, and the difference is all the same for all of us, so I hear Jimi as only I hear, okay?

The fact is that I'm eclectic, and perhaps because I am a musician, or perhaps because I was in a deep dip in the music that never stops and more and more deepens, I'm always in a constant search for new sounds, and to hear new songs. This eagerness to hear what I have not yet had the ear is somehow somewhat disturbing, and it's something that moves me always, and presents itself as a vital necessity.

For those who don’t know or don’t understand, it is somewhat strange to think of "new music" as I write about a musician who is gone for a long time, but Jimi Hendrix is timeless, and will always be present, a great teacher that maybe was shinning so much that ended up consuming itself as a price paid for this brightness, but I don’t know nothing about it, and no one knows and perhaps will never knows about it.

Jimi Hendrix is one of the guitarists who exert more influence on me, and one of the guitarists that I hear a lot.

He lived not only in time in which he lived. I have the distinct impression that he truly transcended time in his music, and in his mind.

Well I feel that way, and somehow I feel so strange in this world today as I imagine he felt in the world in which he lived.

Jimi was not accepted by the media of his time that was working with the black music because they said that he had not represented them with his music, and he was also not accepted by the media who worked with pop music in general because they claimed that his music was very heavy at that time but their shows were always sold out and he achieved success for his talent, virtuosity, restlessness and enough courage to always be inventing, experimenting and reinventing itself, and only Allah knows how far he would have paddled in this river in which he was sailing.

But the truth is that he simply did not care about this...

I also sincerely don’t care! I really don’t care for the fact that people look at me and think that I’m exotic for being who I am, and as I am.

I really don't care, okay?

People seeking unsuccessfully to label me, classify me, qualify me...

People seeking without success and at every moment, some reason for me to be as I am, without realizing that they are mirroring me YOUR OWN REASONS, not mine, and the truth is that most likely there is no reason, and there is no obligation to be a reason, after all, my only goal and the only thing that moves me, and the reason of things, it's just my music, and nothing else matters.

So here too, in this way that is not musical, I have many reasons to like Jimi, okay? =)
